F10 5-Series

The BMW F10 5-Series (2010–2017) is tested in my garage — it’s the platform of our 535i project car. N55 power, rear-drive balance, and a huge aftermarket make it a favorite DIY platform.

F10 wheel fitment guide

Tested in our garage

Our 535i runs the factory staggered 19s. The F10 has generous wheel wells — 19″ staggered is the sweet spot for street, and square 18s make a great winter setup. M Sport brakes need 18″ or larger with proper spoke clearance.

UseWheelTireNotes
Street (staggered)19×8.5″ ET35 F / 19×9.5″ ET40 R245/40R19 F / 275/35R19 R535i sweet spot; no rubbing at stock height.
Street (square)18×9″ ET35245/45R18Great winter setup; verify M Sport brake clearance.
Aggressive street20×9″ ET35 F / 20×10.5″ ET40 R255/35R20 F / 285/30R20 RCheck fender clearance; may need a roll if lowered.

Spacer starting points

  • Stock wheels: 10–15mm front and rear to flush out the arches.
  • Aftermarket: Start with no spacer; add 5–10mm only if needed.

What rubs / needs fender work

  • Front: 255+ tires with ET32 or lower may rub at full lock when lowered.
  • Rear: 285+ tires or ET35 and lower on 10.5″ wheels typically need a fender roll if lowered.
